As an Iowa fan, I miss this version of Wisconsin football. Even though my hawkeyes kept losing to the Badgers, the big ten is a better conference with Wisconsin competing each and every year for the championship. Here's hoping Luke Fickell can get them back on track in 2024!

There's a scene from The Wire where Avon Barksdale says "I want my corners" I think of that every time I watch this highlight, because the first 6 minutes are literally just Wisconsin taking the ball outside, and beating a Nebraska defender around the corner. The reaction of the Nebraska player on the sidelines at 5:28 is so perfect. It's like you can hear him screaming in his head "How does this keep happening?" Some of these were bad angles by Nebraska defenders (1:25). But most are just the Wisconsin backs beating defenders over and over

You knew this was going to be a special season after this game, just unfortunate that 2 Hail Mary losses kept this team from realizing it’s full potential. Excited to see what the program can achieve in the future now that we have Fickell and the ability to recruit quality quarterbacks and receivers, exciting times ahead in Madtown.

This badger team got beat only by two Hail Marys. Losing the rose bowl didn’t matter at that point. This was our only national championship shot

So much has happened & changed since this has happened: 1) Bret Bielema is the current head coach at Illinois 2) Luke Fickell (interim HC at Ohio State in 2011) is the current head coach at Wisconsin And this was still a thing: 1) Jim Leonhard (Badgers DC) was still a player in the NFL 2) Paul Chryst was still the OC at Wisconsin The list goes on, however a decade plus later, and things already look so different.
